Greece Interim Prime Minister Lucas Papademos
11/10/2011
Treasury prices are moving lower this morning as we open the last day of this holiday shortened trading week. Investors breathed a sigh of relief overnight after Italy was able to access debt markets in auction that was apparently supported by ECB buying. Meanwhile, Greece announced that it is putting its faith in newly announced interim Prime Minister Lucas Papademos. In US economic news, a better than expected weekly jobless claims report has added further pressure to treasury prices this morning. Currently, the 10yr yield is at 2.054% (1.978% Wednesday) and the 2-10 yield spread is at 182bps, steeper by 8bps since yesterday morning.
